About This System
The Venator Gaming PC provides an optimal entertainment experience in a small form factor that prioritizes performance and subtle styling. In place of RGB it has Noctua Redux fans housed in a black metal case with wood panel accents. It differs from the Business model in that some internal components are upgraded, such as the motherboard, SSD size, CPU cooler size, CPU power level and more. The entire case offers ample ventilation thanks to its mesh design, while providing ample CPU cooling via the custom Thermaltake+Noctua CPU cooler.
The lowest end GPU we sell in prebuilt systems is the Nvidia RTX 5070 with 12GB, which we consider the minimum for a new mid-range gaming system. No 8GB graphics cards are recommended, but if you know you want a computer with a Nvidia 5060 8GB, or any AMD Radeon GPU, then it can be built on demand. Simply send us an email to enquire.
More modern games are taking advantage of 8-core CPUs, hence why all computers we sell come with a 9700X or better. For the Venator Gaming model, we increased the power limit of the 9700X to 105w, instead of 65w. This offers some improvements in gaming and more in multitasking workloads. For example, streaming while playing and then editing content. Such workloads are ideal for CPUs with a minimum of 8 cores and adequate power.
Our prebuilt systems only come with Nvidia GPUs because they tend to offer the best overall user experience. This is not only in gaming but also streaming, content editing and AI related work. The advantage of a computer over a gaming console is that is it able to do all of these other tasks, so with that in mind we chose Nvidia GPUs to ensure that users can more easily enjoy all that a computer can do. Unfortunately, some graphics card models are overpriced, such as the Nvidia 5080 which sits around $1450. This is currently $450 over MSRP and the reason that optioning the Clarus with a Nvidia 5080 costs substantially more than it ideally should. Also note that if you do get a 5080, the Corsair power supply will be upgraded to an 850w, from the 750w that ships with Nvidia 5070 configurations.
The RAM we use is DDR5-6400 CL32. It is currently the best price-to-performance RAM speed whilst maintaining system stability with AMD CPUs. DDR5-6000 CL30 is also a great choice, but Ryzen CPUs show increased FPS in games with the faster 6400 CL32 RAM.
